DESIGNING THE NEW FAÇADE OF SAL Y LAUREL

Hello,

Good morning! We started our week visiting the facilities of Carpintería Metalma at Salvaterra do Miño. It was a very interesting visit as we have learned all the technical characteristics of the wood that we will employ at the façade of the Fish Market.

Thanks to a specialized support team, we have come to the conclusion which wood best suits the project in order to manufacture and assemble the new façade. We have finally chosen two woods: iroko and cerejeira. Both match perfect due to their density, color and durability.

We are happy to continue working with this great project and we wish you a Merry Christmas!

SAKACHIMALI IS BEING DEVELOPED AND TAKING SHAPE

Hello,

We are happy to share with you that both the garden that our studio is developing and the house designed by Paul Cremoux studio are taking shape.

The project will be developed in an oak forest at a warm-temperate subtropical zone in the Magdalena Contreras borough, in Mexico City. For this reason, the landscape design that we have created needs to be well balanced with the pre-existing vegetation as well as with the house project.

In short, we will show you part of the process.

CHOOSING PAVEMENTS FOR THE FISH MARKET

Hello,

Last Friday we visited the facilities of the enterprise Prosistemas at the industrial zone As Gándaras de Budiño en Porriño. We have learned from a specialized team the diversity and different techniques used for the manufacture of industrial pavements, both from cement and polymer. This has helped us to define the perfect pavement required for the Fish Market.

The main idea is to design a pavement that perfectly combines aesthetical and functional characteristics, fulfilling all the requirements established by the Technical Code for Construction, as resistance and non-skid properties regards.

We are very pleased to work in the development of this pavement. We are very thankful to have the support of both, the clients and the specialists.

Have a nice week and best regards from BUO Arquitectura!

TRIP TO ITALY BY ECLISSE

Hello,

I feel very lucky because I had the opportunity to visit last week the factory “Eclisse, frames for sliding doors” at Pieve di Soglio in the province of Treviso, northern Italy. With a group of architects and the commercial manager of Galicia, Jaime Da Silva, we have traveled to the province in order to deeply learn about all the qualities of their products and to be able to confirm their slogan: “Our products not only optimize the living space, but also increase the multiple possibilities of interior design by reinterpreting the concept of subdivision and the use of domestic atmospheres.”

I would like to thank the invitation and the opportunity that I had. This experience allowed me to learn more about the manufacture of such amazing products. Special thanks to Jaime Da Silva and Eclisse Italy for such an incredible trip.

Thank you very much and it has been a pleasure to meet all my fellow travelers.

MEXICO CITY AT THE ATLAS OF URBAN GROWTH

Hello,

We would like to share with you one project of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and the NYU Stern Urbanization Project. This project is based on a study carried out in order to learn about the growth of the biggest cities in the world. This work has been captured in the Atlas of Urban Expansion which gathers 120 cities.

The idea of this project is to anticipate the new growth of cities and to work as a simulation tool that could help to plan better cities in the future and to avoid a population collapse, which nowadays seems to be imminent.

By clicking on the image, you will be able to see a video which shows the growth of Mexico City from early XIX century to the year 2000.

NEW APP TO RECOGNIZE DIFFERENT TREES

Hello,

Today we want to recommend a new APP for those who are interested on the study, observation and enjoyment of the trees. From the Royal Botanic Garden of CSIC, we can download this application that will help us to identify 118 wild species through the Iberian and Balearic Peninsula.

We think that it is a great APP that could make the work field easier. Besides it is a free of charge APP and can be used with free internet connection.

Below you will be able to visit the webpage of this APP, with a simple video that teaches us how to use it: ARBOLAPP

Best regards from BUO Arquitectura and have a nice week!

Hello,

Today is a very important day for BUO Arquitectura! We have just received an invitation from Architect Pierre Chauvency, a dear friend and member of our working team, to collaborate in the design of our first garden in France: “Petit Jardin de Ville à Lille”.

The main idea of this project is to design the backyard garden of a house located north Lille, whose owners are looking forward to enjoy from this little green area.

We are very happy to be part of this invitation, especially because is from our friend “Pedriño”
