The main objective of this first rehabilitation of this nook is to foster the idea of a market as a place where people can share their own thoughts and ideas. For this reason, we suggest the creation of a space for the reflection of some of the urban dynamics where different “sights” can be shown, feeding the urban and intellectual movement of the city. In order to reach this objective, we have designed an added piece to the plaza that works as a new viewpoint of the historic city, where all the attention is concentrated, functioning as a cultural space, exhibition center and market space.
We thought of a building that incorporates an ever alive and changing skin as a metaphor for the current changes and contrasts that we experience in our society.
