Conference on the research project ‘Indian Architecture’ within the municipalities of the interior of the province of Pontevedra (A Lama, Fornelos de Montes, Pazos de Borbén and Ponte Caldelas), as part of the ‘Ruralmente’ initiative at the Casa da Costa in the town of Xunqueiras in the municipality of Pazos de Borbén. The GDR Galicia Suroeste Eu Rural, the GDR Limia-Arnoia and the GDR Valle del Ambroz seek to promote and raise awareness of local projects and products.
The talk began with the migratory process to America, particularly to Salvador de Bahía, the possible architectural influences that fuelled the spirit of these Indianos, until their return with the construction of a considerable number of houses influenced by the ‘baiana’ style.
The day ended with a series of guided tours of ‘Casa da Costa’, the Indian house where the event took place.
