In Galicia, emigration has been a constant throughout its history. From the late nineteenth century to the present the process has varied and mutated considerably, being necessary to understand the relationships that exist between emigrants and the phenomenon called nostalgia tourism.
Nostalgia tourism has been defined as the influx of migrants who periodically return from their places of residence to their community of origin for short periods. Made up of migrants who temporarily return to their community of origin to participate in social, family and cultural activities that take place at certain times of the year.
This communication focuses on the study of nostalgia tourism and its impact on population centers of three of the municipalities that make up part of the Serra do Suído: A Lama (Pontevedra), Avión and Beariz (Ourense).
